Best Hotels to Stay in for the First time in Canada
The World’s Top Awards survey was open to voting between January 11 and May 10in 2021 because all over the world, destinations were removing COVID-19 limitations. The rules for surveys allow readers to review the experiences they have had during three years. We hope the honorees of this year’s survey will inspire you to travel more once you return to the world.
With their cobblestoned, centuries-old neighborhoods and cozy eateries, the cities of Canada like Montreal and Quebec City often draw comparisons with European capital cities. However, the country’s western cities, like Vancouver and Vancouver, are often recognized for their vibrant culinary scene and proximity to outdoor activities. What the towns in both regions of the country have in common are world-class hotels that delight visitors, whether for the first time or the tenth time.
Each year, as part of the World’s Best Awards, survey T+L readers are asked to comment on their travel experiences from around the world and to voice their views on the top cities, hotels, resorts, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and much more. Hotels’ amenities, location, services, food, and overall quality were evaluated. The properties were classified as resorts or cities depending on their location and facilities.
COURTESY OF RITZ-CARLTON
In determining the best city hotels in Canada, the readers awarded praise to the most well-known luxury brands like Ritz-Carlton (which was awarded two spots), Fairmont (with three), and Auberge Resorts Collection (with two). No. 10 Fairmont Palliser, located in Calgary, Alberta, was typical of fashion since readers were raving about its services and the area.
Independents, however, were among the most highly rated properties. For instance, the No. 3. Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City was praised by high praise all over. Many guests said that thanks to its spa facilities and excellent restaurant owned by the family, Saint-Antoine was a perfect hotel for couples looking to escape.
In terms of locations, the hotels featured on this year’s list are situated in both the western region of British Columbia and the eastern province of Quebec, each having four hotels that were among the top 10. In the end, the voters picked the legendary Ritz-Carlton, Montreal, as Canada’s most prestigious City hotel. Find out what makes it different.
1. The Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Some guests noted that the Ritz-Carlton Montreal was a luxury hotel with “tremendous views” of the city (and some rooms had views of the serene interior garden.) The guests also appreciated the amenities of the hotel that help keep guests warm during the winter seasons: “In winter,” said one guest, “you can access the underground walkways to get around the city, away from the snow and traffic.” The warm fireplaces are an attractive feature, as people remarked. The dining options at the hotel are anchored by Daniel Boulud’s modern approach to Mediterranean cuisine, Maison Boulud. The full-service spa offers unique treatments, such as the sugar-based maple massage. Overall the Ritz-Carlton Montreal is a place that earned the trust of its readers as the most elegant hotel anywhere in Montreal.
