1. Automatic Entrance Scholarships

They are awarded based on prior academic excellence, participation with the local community, leadership, and various other factors. Although they are referred to as Automatic Entrance Scholarships (AES), students could be required to apply if they were not previously chosen to receive the scholarship.

A maximum of 10 international students are awarded this award each calendar year.

In-course awards are available for students who aren’t at the end of their studies. Part-time or full-time students of all faculties can be eligible to receive In-course awards. Students from abroad can apply for the same award as domestic students. However, each faculty has specific requirements for applicants and the number of awards they provide. To be eligible for one of these McMaster University scholarships, you must have a grade point average of 8.0 or greater with 18 or more of your graded units.

1. Graduate Students Association Bursary

The McMaster University International student scholarship was established in 1999. As the name implies, it was established in 1999 by The Graduate Students Association under the initiative of the McMaster Student Opportunity Fund. The scholarship is available to full-time or part-time students in all faculties. The award is given annually to the most deserving student chosen through the Graduate Students Association.
But, it’s important to remember that international students will never be completely covered for tuition fees, regardless of their scholarships. The scholarship doesn’t differ, but it does pay a substantial part of the tuition.
2. Dr. Richard Splane Ph.D. Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: Unknown
The award is given each year to a single student in the second to the sixth year during this Ph.D. course in social service. To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be conducting his thesis research in the field of social welfare policies. Additionally, he should exhibit leadership qualities and promise that he will positively influence the social welfare policy shortly. Although this specific scholarship is only available to Social Welfare students, similar scholarships are available in other fields.
