York University is the third-largest university in Canada. It was established in Toronto in 1959; the university offers more than 170-degree degrees for international and local students.

York University is divided into three campuses, with Keele, the principal branch located within Northern Toronto. It’s the most prominent location for the colleges for residential students: Calumet, Founders, McLaughlin, Norman Bethune, Stong, Vanier, Winters, and New College.

Application Fee at York University

To be eligible to apply at York University, prospective undergraduate students have to pay a non-refundable application fee of around $125. The price only covers three courses which means that to add another course student, they must be able to pay an additional fee of $40. Graduate students, however, will only have an admission fee of $105.

Admissions Requirements at York University for International Students

1. President’s International Scholarship of Excellence

The President’s International Scholarship of Excellence is one of the most prestigious prizes in York, which is valued at $180,000 ($45,000 a year 4). 2. York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship

  • The amount of the scholarship is up to $4,000 per year

The York University scholarship for international students is available to international and local students with an admissions average of at least 80%. The amount awarded will be contingent on the student’s grades and eligibility. For instance, a student having an IB score of 42-45 could be eligible for a grant worth around $3200.

The scholarship is renewable for three years, based on the applicant’s workload and GPA. To qualify, the student must keep a GPA of at minimum 8.0 and a total course amount of 24 units for the duration of the award.

3. Glendon International Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: $4,000 to $8,000

The Glendon International Scholarship is available for students outside the mentioned college. To be eligible for the York University scholarship for international students, applicants must score an 85 and demonstrate the ability to lead and financial need.

The winners are selected through nominations received from school or community groups. In addition, the candidate must write a 300-word essay that shows the applicant’s leadership qualities and potential achievements in the direction of Glendon College.

1. York University Minimum Funding Commitment

The Armand and Denise LaBarge Graduate Scholarship in Multiculturalism is awarded to one MA or PhD student who exhibits superior academic performance in their field of research. As per its name, the York University scholarship for international graduate students is based on those who advocate for Multiculturalism, Diversity, and Human Rights.

It is a one-time grant. The applicants must submit a completed request form, curriculum vitae, and a transcript of their documents to the Coordinator of Scholarships and Awards.

3. Joyce and Fred Zemans Scholarship

  • Scholarship amount: $2,700 (variable depending on the endowment fund)

The Joyce and Fred Zemans Scholarship Non-Renewable are offered to three students from the Graduate Program for Art History, the Schulich School of Business MBA Program, and The Osgoode Hall Law School Graduate Program in Law.

While there are specific qualifications that applicants must meet, necessities include current or forthcoming enrollment and evidence of academic achievements.
