🧩 Scope of Work
The selected contractor will perform quantitative ecology and climate modeling analyses to assess species resilience and habitat stability under climate change scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement spatiotemporal statistical models using large-scale ecological and climate datasets.
- Integrate remote sensing, biodiversity, and climate data to evaluate the resilience of species assemblages.
- Identify and map potential climate refugia across an elevational gradient in southeastern Peru.
- Produce high-quality visualizations, technical reports, and policy-relevant outputs.
- Synthesize findings into peer-reviewed manuscripts for publication.
📅 Contract Duration: November 2025 – October 2026 (12 months)
🗓️ Reporting: Monthly progress updates with preliminary analyses and summaries.
📄 Final Deliverable: Submission of complete manuscripts by the end of the contract term.
🎓 Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, applicants should demonstrate both technical expertise and research experience in climate science and ecology.
Essential Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Quantitative Ecology, Climate Science, or a related field.
- Proven record of statistical modeling and data analysis involving climate and biodiversity datasets.
- Strong publication history in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Advanced programming skills in R or Python.
- Experience with Google Earth Engine, GIS tools, and remote sensing workflows (preferred).
💵 Compensation and Benefits
- Contract Value: $60,000 – $75,000 per year (based on experience and deliverables).
- Work Arrangement: Fully remote, with optional travel to field sites in Peru.
