Role Summary
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on investigating how bile acids function as nutraceuticals. This role offers unique exposure to both academic and industry-led research environments, providing opportunities for skill development, collaboration, and professional growth.
You will support and conduct multiple laboratory and data analysis tasks, including:
- In vitro fermentation experiments
- Flow-FISH and SCFA/metabolite analysis
- RNAseq and molecular biology workflows
- Cell culture and qPCR procedures
- Assessment of microbiota changes and metabolite profiles
Additionally, you will assist in aspects of clinical trial research, such as collecting and analyzing faecal, urine, and blood samples.
Required Qualifications & Skills
To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in a relevant field
- Strong practical laboratory and research skills
- Experience with sterile and anaerobic microbiology techniques
- Understanding of gut fermentation processes
- Ability to maintain accurate lab records and work independently
Desirable Experience:
- MSc or PhD in a related discipline
- Familiarity with GC or HPLC separation and identification techniques
- Experience preparing biological samples
- Previous involvement in multidisciplinary research teams
