About the Role

Are you ready to lead the next phase of cyber security awareness and resilience at one of Australia’s top universities?

As the Lead, Cyber Security Awareness, you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic, high-impact programs that empower staff and students to protect themselves and the institution from evolving digital threats.

This pivotal leadership role involves collaborating with stakeholders across departments to embed a culture of cyber safety, translating complex technical issues into accessible, engaging campaigns that make real change happen.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Design and Implementation of engaging, data-driven cyber security awareness initiatives.
  • Develop Effective Campaigns tailored to diverse audiences within the university community.
  • Evaluate and Improve Programs using data and feedback to ensure continuous enhancement.
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders to integrate awareness into all digital practices.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cyber security awareness and culture change.
  • Stay Ahead of Emerging Trends in cyber threats, behavioral change, and awareness strategies.

About You

To excel in this role, you’ll bring a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a people-first mindset. You are passionate about creating safe digital spaces and thrive on translating complex cyber concepts into practical, engaging learning experiences.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in cyber awareness, behavior change, and digital engagement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information.
  • Experience designing and leading awareness or training programs within large organizations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration capabilities.
