Established in 2018, the Center for the Business of Health (CBOH) brings together experts across disciplines to advance understanding at the intersection of business and health. The centerβs vision is to become the leading academic hub for research, collaboration, and innovation that improves health and well-being across communities.
CBOH partners with the Gillings School of Public Health, Eshelman School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine, and other leading institutions to conduct cutting-edge research and influence health policy and business practices.
π Position Overview
The Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, or Research Professor will play a key role in advancing CBOHβs mission by producing impactful, interdisciplinary research and leading thought leadership initiatives.
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about the business of health, health policy, and academic research translation.
π§© Core Responsibilities
- Develop and publish research on the business of health and its societal impact.
- Collaborate with thought leaders and partner institutions across disciplines.
- Translate academic research into actionable insights for business and policy audiences.
- Represent CBOH in conferences, stakeholder meetings, and high-level engagements.
- Support program excellence, evaluation, and quality assurance.
π€ Additional Responsibilities
- Lead external relations and partnership development with government, industry, and philanthropic organizations.
- Collaborate with the Advancement team to strengthen fundraising efforts and donor relationships.
- Supervise team members and guide research initiatives that align with CBOHβs strategic goals.
π Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or foreign equivalent) in business, health policy, or health sciences.
- Proven expertise in health policy analysis, business of health research, or related fields.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to multiple audiences.
π‘ Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business, health policy, or related sectors.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing collaborative projects.
- Strong technical, written, and presentation skills for academic and policy audiences.
- Ability to engage with government officials, healthcare leaders, and corporate executives.
- Willingness to travel for stakeholder engagement and collaborative meetings.
