🔬 About the Position
Lawrence Technological University (LTU) is inviting applications for a full-time Research Assistant (Postdoctoral) position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. This exciting opportunity is part of an NSF-funded research project focused on exploring the interactions between engineered nanoparticles and biomacromolecules within biological environments.
The selected candidate will join a dynamic research group under the supervision of the Dean, College of Engineering, contributing to groundbreaking discoveries at the intersection of nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, and materials science.
🧪 Key Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant, you will play an active role in both experimental and analytical aspects of the project. Core duties include:
- Conducting cell-culture experiments to evaluate cell proliferation and protein synthesis.
- Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis using advanced tools such as electron microscopy.
- Leading literature reviews and writing research and review articles for publication in top international journals.
- Contributing to the design, execution, and documentation of innovative biomedical experiments.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance the field of biomaterials and nanomedicine.
🎓 Education & Experience Requirements
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in one of the following or related fields:
- Chemistry
- Materials Science
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. within the last five years or are nearing completion are encouraged to apply.
⚙️ Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
- Cell culture and fluorescence microscopy
- Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
- Proteomics and biomolecular analysis
Strong motivation, a collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are essential for success in this role.
