Lawrence Technological University (LTU) is inviting applications for a full-time Research Assistant position in the Biomedical Engineering Department. This exciting opportunity is part of an NSF-funded project focused on exploring how engineered nanoparticles interact with biomacromolecules in complex biological environments.
This position is ideal for motivated researchers with a strong background in nanomaterials, cell biology, and biomedical engineering, seeking to contribute to innovative interdisciplinary research.
🧫 Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct cell-culture experiments and analyze cell proliferation and protein synthesis.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses using electron microscopy and related techniques.
- Carry out literature reviews in biomaterials and nanoscience.
- Prepare review articles and publish high-impact research in international journals.
- Collaborate within a dynamic team under the Dean of the College of Engineering.
🎓 Required Education and Experience
- Ph.D. (completed within the last five years or near completion) in one of the following disciplines:
- Chemistry
- Materials Science
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Or a related scientific field
🧠 Desired Technical Skills
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
- Cell culture techniques
- Fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy
- Proteomics and molecular analysis
Strong motivation, independent research ability, and effective collaboration skills are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are highly valued.
🌍 Language and Communication Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical materials.
- Capable of writing clear reports, research articles, and technical documents.
- Confident in presenting research findings to scientific and general audiences.
