The Rowett Institute, part of the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences & Nutrition, is renowned for its cutting-edge facilities and interdisciplinary approach. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic team working in state-of-the-art laboratories and the Human Studies Intervention Unit in Aberdeen.

🧠 About the Project

This position supports the project “Understanding facilitators and barriers for consumers to make healthier and more sustainable food choices.”

The research forms part of the Scottish Government-funded Strategic Research Programme, delivered in collaboration with five other globally recognized research institutes under the Scottish Environment, Food and Agriculture Research Institutions (SEFARI) network.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Recruiting participants for the Food Swap study
• Managing day-to-day activities of the human intervention study
• Collecting, processing, and analyzing research data

This temporary post offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nutrition, behavioral science, and human health research within a highly collaborative academic environment.

💰 Salary & Benefits

• Research Assistant (Grade 5): £32,546 – £36,130 per annum (pro rata)
• Research Fellow (Grade 6): £38,249 per annum (pro rata)

🎓 Candidate Eligibility & Visa Information

• For Research Assistant: This role does not meet UKVI salary requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
• For Research Fellow: The position may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, depending on candidate qualifications and UKVI tradeable points eligibility.
