🎯 Job Purpose

The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the UNC School of Nursing Meals Study — a project aimed at improving community health and nutrition outcomes.

You’ll work closely with research team members to coordinate logistics, handle meal deliveries, and ensure data accuracy while contributing to academic publications.


🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Use route planning software to determine efficient weekly delivery routes.
  • Coordinate with vendors to receive and distribute weekly study meal orders.
  • Deliver meals to study participants across Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake counties.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for communication and documentation.
  • Attend regular research meetings and participate in data analysis and publication efforts.

🎓 Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of training and experience) from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Competence in Microsoft Office tools.

⚙️ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Access to a personal vehicle for deliveries.
  • Competency in using route planning software.
  • Ability to protect participant confidentiality.
  • Successful background and driving record check.
  • Completion of CITI Socio-Behavioral Basic and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) modules upon hiring.

💪 Physical Requirements

Applicants should be able to move boxes containing meal orders and deliver them safely to specified addresses with or without accommodation.
